My wife & I just revisited the Crosskeys p/h as we used to always call there with our kids back in the 80s/90s/2000 when Barry & anne keep it when it was Kimberly brewery's.
The girls behind the bar were nice & polite but unfortunately Ì didn't find the beer very exciting to my taste..SORRY

'Lovely quaint village pub and restaurant. Looks great outside and the interior is outstanding. Nice decor and good planned dinner tables, very clean too. I was too busy to order any food from their menu. The bar staff were friendly and very accommodating. However, the manager was not as welcoming and wasn't a smiley person!!! Also , initially on entering the place I felt a lot of stares, whether it's down to the fact that they don't get many new customers or they believed i didn't fit in, either way it's definitely prevented me becoming a return customer. They have certainly lost any future business off me and all my family and friends.

Excellent quality food (the slow roasted pork belly was magnificent and the blueberry and lemon crème brûlée outstanding!), service friendly and efficient, sensible pricing.....I'll go again!

Lunch fit for a queen.
Well, us two anyway 🤣
For those who don't know, Head chef Des Sweeney once worked as a chef for the Queen. He has also worked at the House of Lords and on the QE2.
Located in the village of Epperstone.
You can't miss the pub as there's a taxi outside, which looks like it's retired.
For lunch, there's a specials board to select from two courses £18.95.
Or an A la carte.
We chose
Starters
Chorizo croquettes (off the specials)
Tempura King Prawns £7.25
Mains
Chicken Supreme £12.95
Venison Haunch Steak £15.95
Served with a selection of veg.
Side order of Parmesan chunky chips
Dessert to share.
Bread and butter pudding £6.95
The food is all cooked fresh to order.
And served the traditional way with the veg on the side.
Good home cooked food.
Our server Sarah was an absolute.

I've eaten here a couple of times, and decided to take my mum and dad out for an early father's day Sunday lunch. The photos tell the story, but Des and the kitchen team and Sarah and the front of house team were fantastic. The food was absolutely brilliant. The service was friendly and efficient. We had soup and pigeon as starters. I wouldn't normally order pigeon, but on a whim I tried it. Wow! Great. The presentation was beautiful and pretty. We also had the ling prawns which were light and not greasy. Two beef Sunday dinners were great. Just check the photos of the Yorkshire puddings. Then we shared a couple of desserts. Bread and butter pudding... I thought this would be too heavy for me in summer, but it was light and tasty with great sauce! But the best was the poached pear. Stand out fantastic. All in all, this was one of the best Sunday dinners I've had in years. If not, the best ever.

Visited here a few weeks ago with some friends for Sunday lunch. Service was fast and the staff were friendly. We all had a starter and main course with a few of us saving room for dessert too. The food was tasty, with the highlight being that Sunday roast and giant Yorkshire pudding! I'd definitely recommend this place to others.

As you walk in, you see the different awards won proudly displayed on the fence but until you are inside enjoying and experiencing the hospitality of the amazing staff and the warmth of the place that you realise how great a place this pub is. Truly a country pub and would give it a 5 star rating any time. What came out of the kitchen was quite impressive. They do not have children menu but are very flexible to work magic to accommodate children. We had a lovely family time out and would highly recommend.

Excellent food and excellent waitresses. The biggest Yorkshire pudding in history. They also cater for people with intolerances. They also did dairy free gravy and veg with no butter on.

We went there for a lunch. Instead of sitting inside we decided to sit outside, overlooking garden and roaming chickens.
The food was lovely presented and very tasty. It's prepared from fresh ingredients so the menu changes every day.
It's a dog friendly pub but they must be on a leash because of wandering chickens.
